Doorstep surfing Very light weight and, given past experience, will blow away up the road in a high wind. Also skids easily with the smallest amount of moisture on the step. Best thing I’ve found so far for cleaning muddy dog-walking boots. I fitted the mat into a large shallow plastic tray previously used to stand garden pots in. I keep it by the garden hose and a house drain. I keep the tray partly full of water from the hose used to clean the boot tops and shuffling about on the wet mat does a great job of cleaning my boot soles. The dirty water overflows into a drain via a hole cut in the side of the tray. Sorted! The strip I cut off, to fit the tray, is kept by the front door for less dramatic shoe wiping…
