Worse radio alarm I’ve ever bought. I bought this model exactly a year ago. During that year it lost 7 minutes. When I contacted Roberts they wanted £18 for the repair and £14 for collection and delivery. The clock didn’t cost me that new!! I’d had an earlier model which I used for years and during that time it lost 5 minutes. So the newer model CR9971 is much worse. I won’t be buying Roberts products again.

Runs 7 mins slow It was great for a few months however gradually started to show the wrong time (now 7 minutes slow).I’ve tried resetting it several times, tried leaving the radio on hoping it would correct itself that way and waited for the clocks to go back to see if that would fix it.No luck though, and it throws me off every morning when I wake up in a daze! I wouldn’t waste your money on it.

Unreliable tuning-in I’m a little disappointed with this alarm radio. It’s actually quite tricky to get a decent signal using the rather outdated technology of a turning wheel and flimsy wire aerial. Once you find a perfect signal it soon needs re-tuning. And the programming functions are quite confusing and far from intuitive meaning on several occasions it has not gone off when expected. When you do manage to tune it in, sound quality is pretty decent for the price. My advice would be to pay…
